Since the first Championship match was held back in 1963, Ploughing Championships (Scotland) Ltd has gone on to promote and encourage the art that is ploughing. Holding matches annually over 2 days at the end of October, the match moves around the length and breadth of the country. 1991 seen the Scottish Ploughing Championships become affiliated with the World Ploughing Championships, which in turn has seen the winners from the Championship representing Scotland on the World stage.
The SPC have an immediate vacancy for a part time Company Secretary. The role will involve the following:-
- Acting as point of contact for all enquiries (both via telephone/email and in person)
- Ensuring all insurance and licensing regulations are met and kept up to date
- Preparation of meeting agendas, meeting notifications and minutes
- Handling all incoming and outgoing mail
- General administration duties
- Liaising with judges and stewards prior to match day
- Booking travel and accommodation for national/world travel
- Diary management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. You should have some secretarial/administration experience and an excellent knowledge of MS Office. You should also be a fast learner, discrete, able to cope under pressure and willing to use initiative. Good salary on offer for the right candidate. This is mainly a working from home position but does include some meetings away from home and also pre/post match days and match days away from home too.
